Why this is important: 'Other' categories are a new feature in SAM. These are used to handle payments for fees for services directly provided/received by the art centre, such as service fees, shipping or donations. They are retained as part of the art centre’s revenue. Setting these up and checking they correctly inc or ex GST is an important part of setup for SAM and your website.
Setting up 'Other' categories
Actions:
Find 'Other 'categories by navigating to ART CENTRE NAME>SAM setup> Categories (top left corner). Click on filters and select Category type 'Other', click show results.
You will see the list of Parent categories, click on the category you wish to edit or view.
Important Note: Art centre commission rate and purchase rates do not apply to OTHER categories, the information in here is redundant, and does not apply, for piece of mind, you can set the rates to default.

- Freight/shipping
- Donations
- Gift voucher
- Funding
- Framing
- Add and activate others as required following above steps
- Review sub categories and re order/rename by deleting or archiving and adding to correct category
- Check GST is correct for category (see table below)
- Instructions on how to find these and add a OTHER SER category to a sale
Impact of non-completion:
If your OTHER categories are not setup, you won't be able to add items like frieght/shipping or donations at point of sale or on your online store.
