The Artist Pricing Level is a shortcut that when used in conjunction with Artwork Sizes makes pricing artworks fast based on the Pricing Manager. Instead of typing in a new price for every single artwork catalogued, SAM uses the prices listed in the Pricing Manager for effiency.
How it works:
The Career: Artists are assigned a level (A to O).
Level A is usually for newer artists just starting their career.
Level O is for established, senior artists whose work has a higher market value.
The "Match-Up": SAM looks at two things to set the price:
The Artist’s Level (e.g., Level C).
The Artwork Size Group (e.g., 50cm x 50cm).
The Result: SAM automatically takes the price from the Price Manager for you.
Key Points for Art Centres:
You don’t have to use all 15 levels: If your Art Centre only needs 5 levels (A to E), you can just use those! You choose what works best for your artists.
Keep it consistent: Because the levels are based on career progression, they help keep prices fair and professional across the board.
Updating is easy: As an artist grows in their career, you simply move them up a level (e.g., from B to C), and SAM will automatically update the prices for their new works.
